  2. Although this site is for students taking PY-111 at the University of Essex, it is an open site to which anybody (including students from other departments and universities) may contribute.
  3. Be respectful of others’ opinions, but don’t be afraid of disagreement. Respectful debate is fundamental to philosophy! Exercise common sense and be considerate toward your fellow users. Diversity of opinion and intelligent civil discourse is encouraged; by the same token, insults and ‘flaming’ will not be tolerated.
  4. Don’t make inappropriate or offensive posts – including threats, harrassment, swearing, prejudice, slander or deliberate insults/name-calling.
  5. Links to websites may be posted as long as they are on-topic.
  6. Immediate banning from this site can result from any of the following: posting of pornography; discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.
  7. Each user specifically acknowledges that the site owner is not liable for any defamatory, offensive or illegal conduct of third parties, subscribers, members or other users of the site and that the risk of injury from the foregoing rests entirely with each user.
